You may or may not have heard of Katie Darnell before, but trust me when I say you will be glad you have! This recently married (now Katie Darnell), Kentucky-native, farm-girl is much more than meets the eye. With what started out as a hobby as just a young girl with just a couple brushes and an iron, Katie has cultivated into the successful hair and make-up business she runs today. Working hard is an understatement, as she has built her dream with only her own two hands and the occasional right-hand man. From cosmetology school to a short run with the salon world, Katie quickly found a deep passion for servicing brides in the wedding industry. It didn’t take long before she devoted all of her time to making it in the world of weddings! And she has never looked back.

From Kentucky to Tennessee, to Indiana to any destination you deem worthy, Katie’s mission is to meet you right where you are at. When it comes to curating the experience for her brides, Katie focuses all of her energy onto your special day and swiftly grasps the vision you see. She prides her business on customer service, prompt responses, reliability and advocating for her brides–not just for the wedding day itself, but the entire wedding process. When asked what her mission for her brides are, Katie is devoted to ensuring that they are the absolute top priority, even in terms of lending a hand to find/work with other vendors for the big day. She has always told her brides “I am literally here for anything you need me for.”

Katie is committed to your wedding just as much as you are, and when it comes to style she is determined to give you your dream! As a hair and makeup business, her goal is to curate the image that each individual bride desires. When asked about what bridal style that she is suited to give, Katie emphasized,

“Style has always been an extremely hard word for me, because in terms of myself personally—I have never been able to pinpoint myself as one specific style. It always just depends on the day, the weather, what kind of mood I am in. I have such a wide variety and range. The brides that I serve, I can do pretty much any style and fit any mold. I have had brides anywhere from extremely classic to brides that want to branch out and do something kind of crazy and different. I am open to everything!”

Although it is easy to compare, as we all fall victim to, Katie believes the most important thing is to stay true to yourself no matter the temptation to compete! In With the New

As Katie recently married the love of her life in February, a rebranding has blossomed! Her business is evolving and she aspires to consistently meet her clients needs, therefore Katie has added two more women to her team who share her exact visions! In the coming years she is hoping for more expansion in order to reach more brides and to continue pouring her heart into this industry that she loves.

I will save the details for Katie to release, however, a little birdy mentioned the name “Cheval” to be in the works. In French, this word means “horse” and symbolizes everything from Katie’s childhood of riding and showing horses, to the beauty, strength, and confidence she envisions for her business, herself, and most importantly her brides to portray. The rebranding will occur in late spring-early summer, so keep an eye out for the big things happening with this humble beginning and beautiful soul!
