Mix in a groom in the military and a worldwide pandemic with a wedding and we have Giovanna and Vince’s October 24th wedding day! It took quite some decision-making to decide to move ahead with the wedding that was originally scheduled for Labor Day weekend. Realizing that Vince would not be able to figure out a date to return to Ohio for a wedding in 2021, the families decided to move ahead. They were originally planning a hotel ballroom wedding and ended up moving to the gorgeous Sapphire Creek. To accommodate their 250-person guest count, we did some quick thinking and praying for decent weather. We added a tent on the property to make sure we could accommodate the guest count with additional seating in a covered patio and pavilion. The dancing took place in the ballroom for the remainder of the evening. Giovanna and her mom, Gia, had in mind a gorgeous lavender and silver color scheme that set off the light and airy tent. We added soft lavender uplighting to the dancing space. The highlight was their amazing 24 feet of desserts made by family members. It was truly the best bakery I have ever tasted! I had also never seen a more full dance floor in my ten-plus years as a planner. To cap the evening, the guests were given Big Macs and fries. It was such a memorable and fun wedding and the couple glowed the entire time!
